11.28 Friday Faves

11.28 Friday Faves Hi friends! Happy Friday and hope my US friends had a beautiful Thanksgiving! It’s been a pretty great week over here. I took the kids and some friends to the trampoline park after their half day at school so they could jump their hearts out, tackled the holiday cooking (made this pie , this green bean casserole with homemade crunchy onions, and picked up a pumpkin loaf, apple pie, and gf gravy from Dedicated), took the kids to Target (to “browse,” they said) and the Pilot returned from a long trip. The end of October through November has been crazy: he was gone, I left for RHS, we high-fived and he left, when he returned I went to LA, we high-fived again and he left, and now he’s back! WHEW. It was such a treat that he could be here for Thanksgiving! ( dress is here // boots are here ) We had the usual lunch/dinner at my Uncle’s house with all of my dad’s side of the fam. After that, we went to Trevor and Danielle’s in the evening to hang out with Madre’s...

Should I Get Saline or Silicone Implants for my Breast Augmentation?

Should I Get Saline or Silicone Implants for my Breast Augmentation? Selecting between saline implants and silicone implants is one of the most significant choices a patient makes when planning breast implant surgery. Both types have been refined over decades of research and offer excellent safety profiles, natural results, and long-term durability. However, understanding how each implant differs in composition, texture, and overall performance is essential before deciding which is right for you. Understanding Saline and Silicone Implants Saline implants are filled with sterile salt water after insertion. This allows the surgeon to make smaller incisions and adjust volume during surgery, achieving precise symmetry between the breasts . In the event of a rupture, the saline solution is safely absorbed by the body, making detection immediate as the breast visibly deflates. Silicone implants, by contrast, are pre-filled with a cohesive silicone gel that closely mimics the softness and...

How much caffeine is “too much”?

How much caffeine is “too much”? For most healthy adults, health authorities suggest staying below about 400 mg of caffeine per day roughly 3–4 standard cups of brewed coffee, depending on strength. But sensitivity varies wildly: some people feel awful after a single espresso, others can drink several cups and feel fine. What matters most isn’t just the number of cups – it’s how your body reacts. 1. Constant fatigue you’re “tired but wired” If you feel exhausted all the time but keep reaching for another coffee to push through, that’s a big red flag. Caffeine blocks adenosine, the brain chemical that tells you you’re tired. In the short term, that feels great. Over time, it can: Mask real fatigue Disrupt your natural sleep wake rhythm Leave you feeling more drained once the buzz wears off If your first thought in the morning and your last thought at night is “I need coffee,” you’re probably leaning on caffeine instead of addressing real sleep debt. 2. Disturbed sleep or...

Reimgining Health Summit Recap

Reimgining Health Summit Recap Sharing a recap of my experience at the Reimagining Health Summit . If you’re reading this and want to learn more about becoming an Integrative Health Practitioner, check it out here and use FITNESSISTA for up to $250 off. It’s by far the best certification I’ve ever done. Hi friends! I hope that you’re doing well and enjoying the week so far. We have a short school week with Thanksgiving, so we’re planning some fun things to do this week. The weather has been a dream so I’m going to see if I can convince the crew to head out on a hike. For today’s post, I wanted to share a recap of my trip to Ft. Lauderdale for the Reimagining Health Summit . It was my second time attending this event – check out last year’s recap here ! – and my first time attending as a speaker. I was invited to speak on a panel with three incredible coaches – they’ve all inspired me on my journey as an IHP – and even though I was suuuuper nervous, it went really well. Some hig...

11.21 Friday Faves

11.21 Friday Faves Hi friends! Happy Friday and happy  Wicked day!! Are you going? Did you already go?? The girls and I are going the second they get out of school and I can’t.even.wait. (I’m a little bit more excited than they are, but they’re good sports and they know they get movie lunch and dessert out of the deal.) In other news, P went back to school today. I’ll share more in an upcoming post (and will probably blab all about it over on Substack in the meantime), but it’s the end of a homeschool era . It was never meant to be a permanent thing unless it needed to be, and she was ready to go back to her friends and teachers. I’m happy for her, cautiously optimistic, and kind of a secret mess emotionally. I know I’ll be crying on and off most of the morning with complex emotions, and will probably cry more at  Wicked  so there ya go. For now, it’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the w...
